SHP Leading Design's new offices in the Al Neyer Inc.'s Linden Pointe office complex in Norwoord, OH is an excellent example of daylight lighting control. Lutron's Eco System is used. The first two of three banks of T5 florescent fixtures are dimmed by the daylight sensors. The shades are automatically controlled by the date and time of day. There are no shades on the north side of the office.

Here is the page for Lutron's Eco submittal sheets http://lutron.com/CMS400/page.aspx?id=5449&mn=527

Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design PDF Print E-mail

Lohre & Assoc. will be sponsoring events at the Boulter House that allow potential owners and developers to meet LEED owners and developers of some of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana's LEED and other energy and environmental design sites. The goal of these events is to help create a community of energy and environmental design leaders.

48 attended the event Friday, October 19, 2007, speakers were:
Andy Hueber: John Hueber Homes
The two homes on Observatory Road feature geothermal heating and air conditioning, light concrete to reduce heat gain, large overhangs to shade the patios, high insulation values, CO exhaust, sustainable wood uses, urban infill and native plantings. Hueber Homes is also working on two other LEED registered or certified homes (one received Silver Certification) in Hyde Park, Cincinnati. http://www.johnhueberhomes.com , 513-683-3080
Jack King: Elements IV Office and Warehouse
This commercial office and warehouse in Dayton, Ohio was completely renovated and LEED Interior Silver has been awarded. Interior tearout finishes and carpet were recycled. The final cost per square foot was nearly half of a comparable space. This building features underfloor electrical distribution, movable wall panels and the lower floor is built into the hillside. http://www.elementsiv.com , 937-918-1000
Craig Frye: Sanitation District 1
This complex in Fort Wright, Kentucky is a wonderful demonstration of every aspect of stormwater management. From the green roof to the final delivery of the runoff to the nearby creek, you can see how permeable concrete and asphalt contribute to the slowing of the water flow as it goes from roof top and parking lot, swale, wetlands, rain garden, through native plants, holding pond, creek, Licking River and on to the Ohio River. http://www.sd1.org , 859-578-6744

48 people attended the May 25, 2007 event at the Frank Lloyd Wright Boulter House in Clifton. Steve Melink, president of Melink Corporation, spoke about his new manufacturing facility which was awarded the first Gold LEED certificate in Ohio. Gerald Checco, Cincinnati Park Board Superintendent of Operations and Land Management spoke about the Park Board Headquarters' new solar panel and wind turbine installation as well has his Clifton home's geothermal installation and plans for a solar array.

Speakers were Stefanie Sunderland of the Northside LEED registered homes; Chuck Lohre, in memory of Bob Lape, on Kenton County School District's Twenhofel LEED registered school in Independence, KY and Jeff Chamot of Neyer Properties' Keystone Parke LEED registered commercial development at I-71 and Dana Ave.
